Jerry Lewis' Sandwich
On 10/05/2005 Jerry Lewis gave a speech on chronic pain at the Dougherty Arts Center here in Austin, Texas. I was backstage, spoke with Jerry briefly, and saw him take a bite or two of this sandwich before going on to deliver his speech. I believe it is a turkey sandwich, but may be ham, it has been in my freezer for a while and I have forgotten. It still looks pretty much like it did when I picked it up from Jerry's dressing room after he left. Teeth marks are clear. I will keep it frozen and ship it in dry ice, or whatever it takes, to keep it frozen, to the winning bidder.
I will donate 20% of the winning bid amount to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of Jerry. He is one of my heroes, but my wife says she needs the space in the freezer. I have no way to prove to you that this sandwich actually was owned and bitten into by Jerry, but it was; this is an authentic item.
